Usage of TechDoc
The TechDoc System is currently utilized by NASA and many of NASA's contractors to support documentation requirements and to effectively manage the corporate knowledge and business processes for:
- Columbia Accident Investigation Board (CAIB) - Used TechDoc to draft their final report. TechDoc was selected due to it's security features (meets NASA requirements for storing ITAR data, Two Factor Authentication, Document Encryption) and it's colaborative capabilities which allowed the Board Members and Editorial Team to work together even though they were frequently working from different locations around the country. Prevo Technologies, Inc. provided the System Management and Operational support for the CAIB TechDoc server.
- NASA/Kennedy Space Center - Uses TechDoc to manage their Business
System Manual, their current and future objectives and supporting agreements,
policies which include Management Instructions, handbooks, program directives,
document procedures, technical instructions, presentations, etc.
- Expendable Launch Vehicle Program - Uses TechDoc to manage the ELV historical documents and the Launch Services Contract documentation.
ELV has a vast amount of proprietary data on expendable launch vehicle design and operations in TechDoc. This data is readily available
for them to do anomaly reviews, readiness reviews, etc. when required.
- International Space Station - Uses TechDoc to manage their Payload
Processing flight hardware documentation for Space Station missions.
- Lockheed Martin Space Operations, which is the KSC Consolidated Space
Operations Contractor (CSOC), uses TechDoc as their primary repository to manage
their CAD drawings, plans, work instructions, forms, etc., that are used to
maintain the communications infrastructure at KSC.
- Space Gateway Support, which is the KSC Joint Base Operations Support
Contractor (J-BOSC), uses TechDoc as their primary repository to manage
their process-oriented plans, procedures, work instructions, forms,
etc., that are used to govern and direct daily work tasks and processes.
- NASA/Stennis Space Center and their support contractors use TechDoc to manage their propulsion testing documents, their quality system documentation which consists of SSC's Customer Service Manual, System Level Procedures, detailed work instructions, department procedures and instructions.
Between the 6 different Document Managers, there are over 200,000 documents stored in the TechDoc System. The document count continues to grow by more than 2,000 new documents per month.
TechDoc is a key factor for KSC NASA and their subcontractors and Stennis NASA and their subcontractors in obtaining their ISO certifications and re-certifications. Employees can go to one central location and retrieve the latest approved documents and processes.
